Sustainability
at Hotel Keihan
Hotel Keihan is working on the “BIOSTYLE PROJECT'' to acheive the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “BIOSTYLE PROJECT'' is an initiative aimed at realizing a bright recycling-oriented society in which people can enjoyably and effortlessly incorporate things that are good for people and the earth into their daily lives. This is positioned as "our commitment as Kenhan Group to achieve the SDGs.”
We are also developing various initiatives that focus on "BIOSTYLE PROJECT" to realize a sustainable, recycling-oriented society.
What is the SDGs?
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the successor to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) established in 2001, and were unanimously adopted by member countries at the United Nations Summit in September 2015. The SDGs are international goals that aim to achieve a sustainable and better world by 2030.
It consists of 17 goals and 169 targets and promises to “leave no one behind” on this planet.
The SDGs are universal goals that not only developing countries but also developed countries themselves are working toward, and we, Hotel Keihan chain, are also actively working on them.
What is BIOSTYLE?
BIOSTYLE is “a lifestyle that incorporates healthy and good things in one's own way while enjoying them.” The Keihan Group proposes this lifestyle and aims to create products, services, and businesses that contribute to a sustainable society. We believe that these guidelines have a high affinity with the SDGs, and we promote them throughout the Group as “BIOSTYLE” = “Keihan's version of the SDGs.” We set and are working on five guidelines (=5GOOD), which are “healthy and happy for the body, mind, community, society, and the Earth.”
